Ruth A. Hargrave founded Thrive Voyager after experiencing her own profound transformative travel experience after her father passed away in 2020. While developing the idea, it became apparent to Hargrave that the world was looking increasingly inward post-covid, and people were looking for deeper meaning in, and from, their travels including being more sustainable and giving back to others.

"As I was in the travel industry, I started seeing more and more accommodations offering experiences for travellers to focus on self-discovery, mindful exploration, and personal growth in a sustainable way,” said Hargrave. "People were looking for these types of experiences but had to do a lot of research to find them, which made me realise there was an opportunity to bring hosts and travellers together using an online directory dedicated to this type of travel.,” she said.

Thrive Voyager's main goal is to help people travel responsibly and thoughtfully. “We want travellers to find a positive connection with themselves and the world and using those experiences to grow personally,” said Hargrave. “It's why each accommodation and experience is handpicked for its potential to inspire personal growth but also to enable travellers to give something back by supporting the local communities and environment when they visit places.,” said Hargrave.
