JULY 2023 - The Nautilus, a five-star ultra-luxury private island hideaway in the Maldives, will host a wellness retreat ‘Energy Harmony Retreat’ this winter, in collaboration with Ananda in the Himalayas. Combining Ananda’s specialist ayurvedic and yogic knowledge with The Nautilus’s timeless hospitality offering, this retreat will provide the ultimate restorative wellness experience.
Ananda in the Himalayas is one of the world’s leading luxury wellness retreats, aligning with the free spirit of The Nautilus’s ultra-luxury bohemian ethos. The partnership first launched in January 2022 with a series of curated experiences available at The Nautilus, enhancing its already extensive wellness offering. This new retreat brings transformational wellness to the Maldives, providing a specially designed, integrated holistic experience for guests looking to rebalance their body, soul and mind.
Located on the Baa Atoll in the heart of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in the Indian Ocean, The Nautilus is renowned for its completely bespoke experience, tailoring holidays to individual needs and providing an unscripted and timeless offering. With just 26 beach and oceanside houses and residences and an extensive range of facilities and spa amenities, the private island is surrounded by the natural beauty of Hanifaru Bay, one of the largest manta feeding hotspots in the world, with white sandy beaches, pristine waters and coral reefs. This extraordinary, tranquil location combined with an unmatched ultra-luxury five-star experience make The Nautilus the perfect private island resort to relax, reset and recharge.
Nestled in the Himalayan foothills, the birthplace of Ayurveda, Yoga and meditation, Ananda integrates these ancient practices with therapy, and oriental medicine. Ananda’s healthy gourmet cuisine helps to further restore harmony in the body and mind. Chakras, the seven points of swirling energy centres within every human framework, are impacted by the way we move and think. Through daily therapeutic Ayurvedic and Tibetan massages, yogic asanas, ancient meditation techniques, visualisation and guided breath work, these chakras can find balance. Treatments and classes will be run by Ananda’s expert practitioners and the four therapy sessions: Reflexology; Kudalini Massage; Indian Head Massage and Ananda Moksha will be provided in the overwater Solasta Spa’s glass-floored private treatment pavilions.
Geetika Sharma, Director of Wellness Strategy, Ananda in The Himalayas comments: “The Ocean takes you far away to a place at the centre of your own being. Nested in the foothills of mighty Himalayas, Ananda offers a sense of rootedness and belonging one often craves to feel. Infusing the vastness of The Nautilus with enigma of Himalayan ground, the wellness experts from Ananda facilitate healing as an inside out process.
“Initiating the self-cleansing work from energy realms of the mind and meridian systems into the material realities of our body. Ananda in the Himalayas and The Nautilus wellbeing experience is a perfect juxtaposition to bring the ancient wisdom of Yogic asana, Ayurvedic therapies, discovering energetic passages with meditation, sound and imagination, while nourishing the senses with flavours of food and nature. At the Energy Harmony Retreat, through silent intentions and nurturing actions we collectively work our way to know the origin and path of all movement within us.”
Ananda’s Executive Chef, Arun Kala, will curate a tailored gourmet cuisine incorporating anti-inflammatory Ayurvedic philosophy where the fundamental food tastes are carefully combined with macronutrients. Created especially for the retreat, the menu will include detoxifying foods, seasonal ingredients and local produce. Ananda’s cuisine philosophy is tailor-made to support the deep yogic work of balancing the chakras.
