The London Dungeon Opens Pop Up Rat Café Serving 'Ratuccino' In The Company Of Rodents

The London Dungeon

Tuesday 24 June, 6.30-8.30pm

The London Dungeon is taking the bizarre Japanese fad for 'Cat Cafés' one step further, trialing a pop-up 'Rat Café', where visitors can enjoy a coffee in the company of rats in June.

Cat Cafés are something of a craze in Asia, with over 100 in Tokyo alone, and London recently welcomed its first ever feline coffee shop.* The London Dungeon, which features rats within its scarily fun attraction, believes that its Rat Café will be hugely popular amongst animal lovers across the capital.

Visitors to The London Dungeon Rat Café, will be able to get up close to the attraction's family of rats in their spacious bespoke 'rat runs' and enjoy petting a tame rat or two whilst sipping on frothy Ratuccinos, luxurious Rattes or tucking into a slice of Black Forest 'Rateau'.

As the old adage goes, Londoners are never more than 6 feet away from a rat. Since the great plague rats have had an undeservingly bad name, but far from being dirty and sly our rat family are extremely well groomed and marvelously mischievous,” commented Hywel Matthias, GeneralManager of the London Dungeon. “We're convinced our world first Rat Café will be a hit - it's new, different, brilliantly eccentric and totally fun!”

The Rat Café will be open between 6.30pm and 8.30pm on Tuesday 24 June. Entry is through pre-booking only and demand is likely to be high, so early booking is recommended. The Café experience can be combined with a visit to The London Dungeon, or experienced on its own. One off fee of £5 to include one hot drink and a cake will apply.
