The Hotel Collection was announced as a runner-up and awarded silver in the 'Best UK Upscale Hotel Brand' award category, at the prestigious 2014 British Travel Awards. The winners were announced at the British Travel Gala Awards Dinner which was held at Battersea Evolution in London on 26 November.
The category of 'Best UK Upscale Hotel Brand' consisted of groups of properties operating under one identity and or companies who market or represent collections of individual hotels under a common identity. The Hotel Collection was pipped to the post by first-prize winner, Pullman Hotels and Resorts. The bronze award was awarded to The Doyle Collection.
Hosted by impressionist and stand-up comedian, Alistair McGowan, the British Travel Gala Awards Dinner was a great success. There were a total of 74 award categories – not all of which were presented on stage.
