Sydney's Best Premium Hotel Rooms and Club Lounge to Be Unveiled

Shangri-La Sydney

Hotel guests will soon indulge in a new level of personalised service when Australia's most sophisticated new accommodation offering is unveiled at Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney.

The iconic venue, which commands Australia's best hotel view from its prime position in The Rocks, will unveil an $8 million refurbishment next month.  The new Horizon Club will shine with the city's most luxurious club lounge and hotel rooms.

Ninety hotel rooms and suites on the hotel's top five accommodation levels will reopen in stages from mid-November 2014.

They will be among the biggest hotel rooms available in Sydney – the largest one offering a vast 242 square metres of living and entertaining space with two bedrooms, an executive study room, private dining room, a personal butler and a grand piano.

The Horizon Club lounge is a four-storey atrium, which takes in sweeping views across Sydney Harbour to the magnificent Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

It will have an entirely new décor and will include one of Sydney's only communal tables in a five-star hotel club lounge, as well as superb boardroom facilities, wifi and broadband internet and magazines and newspapers.

Horizon Club guests will enjoy a selection of superior rooms, all with extraordinary water views and an exceptional level of personal service.  There is access to a range of privileges and benefits, including private check-in, complementary breakfast, afternoon tea and evening canapés and cocktails.

The hotel will announce an exciting new range of Horizon Club personalised service offerings when it reopens its club lounge in December 2014.

Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney's vice president and general manager, Michael Cottan, said the re-launch would take service and accommodation for discerning travellers to the next level.

“Since we first opened in 2003, the Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney has become one of the icons of the Sydney hotel landscape and attracts a growing set of increasingly loyal frequent guests from around Australia and around the globe,” Mr Cottan said.  “The demand for our Horizon Club facilities has been overwhelming and, with our new Horizon Club floor, more guests are able to experience the higher standard of accommodation that the Horizon Club offers, as well as the acclaimed personalised service, special privileges and amenities.”
