- Meeting planners will be rewarded with one free night's stay at any Starwood hotel worldwide for every 50 room nights booked at over 200 participating hotels in Asia Pacific
- Offer valid until 31 December 2013 for meetings up till 31 March 2014
SINGAPORE - Starwood Hotels & Resorts ("Starwood"), the world's largest luxury and upper-scale hotel operator, launches its latest meetings offer "Work Now, Stay Later" with over 200 participating Starwood hotels in Asia-Pacific.
As part of this promotion, Starwood is for the first time offering members of the Starwood Preferred Planner (SPP) programme one free night's stay to be credited to their accounts, for every 50 room nights that they book. This is in addition to the Starpoints they will earn through revenue generated by the Group booking.
The more room nights booked, the more free nights SPP members will earn - with no limits on the number of free nights that can be earned [1]. Normally room nights can only be redeemed through the SPP programme when members have accumulated enough Starpoints.
Starwood Senior Vice-President, Sales - Asia-Pacific, Ms Alison Taylor, said: "Meeting planners know that Starwood is the easiest hotel company to do business with and the 'Work Now, Stay Later' promotion is yet another demonstration of our unique approach. We hope that meeting planners will take this opportunity to earn as many free room nights as they can so that they have the chance to enhance their understanding and product knowledge of our hotels and destinations. But more importantly we want to give them the chance to experience the trademark Starwood hospitality across all our nine brands worldwide."
To qualify for the "Work Now, Stay Later" promotion, bookings must be made by 31 December 2013 for meetings up till 31 March 2014. In addition to the free night's stay award, other benefits include:
- 5% off Master Billed Rooms
- A choice of two of the following value-adds:
- Double Starpoints® with no limits
- Internet in guest rooms
- Internet in meeting rooms
- Double complimentary room allocation
- Double complimentary room upgrade
Enjoy Elite Bonusing opportunities for meetings at Starwood Hotels & Resorts
Starwood Hotels & Resorts now offer SPP members an additional way to achieve Gold and Platinum Status. Group room nights consumed by 31 March 2014 will be automatically combined with room nights earned through Starwood Preferred Guest® ("SPG") qualifying stays to be counted towards achieving Gold and Platinum membership status.
Previously SPP members had to achieve an annual revenue threshold of US$50,000 and US$100,000 to achieve Gold and Platinum Status respectively, and group room nights did not count towards membership upgrades. With the recognition of group room nights, SPP members will be able to achieve faster upgrades: 50 room nights booked in a year for Gold Status; 100 room nights booked in a year for Platinum status.
Existing Gold and Platinum members will earn one Starpoint® for US$2 spent instead of the usual one Starpoint for every US$ 3 spent.

[1] Free night award is valid till 30 June 2014 and can be redeemed for Starwood category 1 to 6 properties worldwide with no blackout dates. One free night award is issued for every 50 room nights booked in one booking and not cumulative across multiple bookings. There is no limit to the number of free night awards a customer can earn.
