The Sri Lanka Collection – a new UK-based representation and marketing company working on behalf of a distinguished collection of Sri Lankan boutique hotels, villas, safari camps and leading inbound tour operators (Destination Management Companies) – will commence operations from today, offering informed, personalised and dedicated services to the UK travel trade. www.srilankacollection.com
The hotels and villas featured in The Sri Lanka Collection are small, privately owned and scattered in picturesque locations across the island. The Collection aims to raise awareness of Sri Lanka's outstanding boutique travel products and assist little-known hotels, villas and safari camps to maximize their visibility amongst the UK travel trade and media. Sri Lanka's richness is in its diversity and a round tour of the island – hopping between these fabulously situated boutique boltholes and exploring their unique localities – allows your clients to experience the very best of Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lanka Collection is the first representation company of its kind to focus on the high-end client and on Sri Lanka alone. It further distinguishes itself by promoting leading Destination Management Companies, Sri Lanka In Style and Red Dot Tours.
“Sri Lanka is now stable and flourishing after a long period of stagnation. As the country develops and new products and services flood the market, discernment is increasingly important as the traveller navigates her way through a wider range of options. The Sri Lanka Collection has handpicked the very best of Sri Lanka and we are delighted to be a part of it”. Dirk de Silva, General Manager of Red Dot Tours
“We're delighted to have joined The Sri Lanka Collection as this will help strengthen our presence within the UK market”. Henry Fitch, Managing Director of The Wallawwa
The Sri Lanka Collection is a reliable and knowledgeable information source that's run by a small yet dedicated team with deep connections to the island and many years' experience in the travel industry. A new representation company. Why now?
The time is ripe for a new representation company for Sri Lanka. Interest in Sri Lanka has never been higher. Since 2009, and the end of the civil war, tourist arrivals have leaped year-on-year. British tourists consistently, and by a large majority, are placed second (behind India) in statistics of tourist arrivals by countries across the world. In 2013, Sri Lanka welcomed more than 1.2 million tourists, – a jump of 26.7 percent since 2012. Arrivals from the UK alone increased by 20 percent, up from 114,000 to 137,000.
