Ramblers Worldwide Holidays - experts in guided walking adventures across the globe - is offering a spectacular 24 day journey of New Zealand embracing both the north and south islands.
This adventure begins with a flight to Auckland, staying long enough to enjoy its principal sights then onto Rotorua with its famous thermal springs, geysers and Maori settlements.
Continuing southwards, one travels to the untamed country of the Tongariro National Park set amidst active volcanic peaks, waterfalls and hot springs.
Next port of call is Wellington and across the Marlborough Sound to Picton South Island, famed for its rugged coastline and magnificent Fox and Franz Josef glaciers.
Then onwards to Queensland - arguably New Zealand's most atrtractive town - being located on the shores of Lake Wakatipu and languishing in the shadow of 'The Remarkables'. Here one can visit the historic gold mining towns of Arrowtown and take a boat trip on the old steamship TSS Earnslaw.
Exploring the south west of the island one travels to Te Anau and the 'lost world' of the Milford Sound.
Thence to Mount Cook - the highest mountain in New Zealand - known amongst the Maori as 'The Cloud Piercer' and the beautiful surrounding area including Lake Pukaki.
Last stop is Christchurch and the superb Canterbury Plains where one can see the regeneration of the town following the recent earthquake.
All in all, one of the most tantalising walking experiences on the planet.
Price from £4,995 per person includes return flights, transfers, bed and breakfast plus 10 dinners and the services of a dedicated tour leader.
