Sofitel Luxury Hotels is pleased to welcome the exciting appointment of Charles-Henri Chevet as the new General Manager for Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort, Siem Reap, Cambodia, effective from 1st October 2009.

Inheriting the valued philosophy of ESSCA, the commercial & business institute in Angers, France, where he graduated, Charles-Henri instills humanistic values into corporate life with passion. Upon the successful completion of his study, he immediately joined the Sofitel group with infinite enthusiasm.

An adventurous spirit embraced with world view and across-the-globe experiences, Charles-Henri took up the challenge of relocating himself in Asia following his 7 years in Rooms and F&B in Europe. He first served at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi in Vietnam as Resident Manager. After 4 successful years, he moved to China and was part of the opening team of the flagship hotel in China, Sofitel Wanda Beijing, taking up the role of Hotel Manager.

His last position was Hotel Manager at Sofitel Shanghai Hyland, a premier business hotel at the city�s commercial centre in which its recent massive renovation has brought to its honourable guests the Club Sofitel and its Club lounge on the 30th floor with mesmerizing panoramic views of Pudong.

Charles-Henri is replacing Didier Lamoot who is soon moving to Phnom Penh for the opening of Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra. The new appointment of Charles-Henri at Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra promises to be an exciting one. Being the first time leading an Asian luxury resort close to the World Heritage Angkor Wat, Charles-Henri will bring refreshing innovation to this magnificent five-star accommodation while carrying on its legendary tradition.
