The Napa Valley features an array of locally owned boutiques and specialty shops which offer everything from fine art, to handcrafted jewelry, to one-of-a-kind apparel.

NAPA

Walkable downtown Napa offers something for everyone's shopping list. For collectable ceramics and wine country inspired antiques, visit Antiques on Second and for casual country home and garden décor, save time for The Roost. The Riverfront on Main Street includes the Napa General Store, which features American-made home furnishings, jewelry, and décor; Cake Plate for elegant designer clothing; and Ivy, Twig, & Twine for one-of-a-kind gifts. The Napa Valley Welcome Center showcases gift items produced by local artisans as well as wine country-inspired accessories. The Oxbow Public Market, located along the Napa river, features 40,000 square feet of organic and locally made and sourced gifts items. For the foodies on your shopping list, visit Annette's Chocolates for hand crafted truffles, caramels and brittle; and Napa Valley Distillery, a family-owned micro-distillery offers a variety of fruit-based distilled spirits, shrubs, and tonics. For creative cooks, Whole Spice sells hundreds of different spices in any volume increment. The Olive Press offers olive oils to sample before deciding which to purchase. For the ultimate retail therapy, don't miss the Napa Premium Outlets, which feature more than 50 designer and name brand stores.

YOUNTVILLE

The charming town of Yountville is home to V Marketplace, an historic building dating back to 1870. This high-end, one-stop shopping village offers a collection of boutiques stocked with locally sourced home décor, cookware and tableware; as well as clothing boutiques Tay & Grace, Sisters Boutique, and Lemondrops. Gallery 1870, Hogan of Napa Valley and North Bay Gallery feature works from local artists, while Kollar Chocolates tempts with chocolate confections made on site behind the glass window kitchen. Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley is an art gallery, shop and wine cooperative under one roof. And, after a day of shopping, head to Chef Thomas Keller's Bouchon Bakery for hand-made chocolates, cookies, and French confections.

OAKVILLE

Oakville Grocery, located on Highway 29, has been a Napa Valley institution since 1881, and is the oldest continually operating grocery in the region. Stocked with house-made tapenades and cheese from Cowgirl Creamery, this grocery offers savory and sweet provisions for an afternoon picnic in between holiday shopping.

HELENA

St. Helena's Main Street evokes small-town charm and one-of-a-kind boutiques. Handmade artisanal delights may be found at Woodhouse Chocolates; Model Bakery's legendary English muffins are packaged to take home; and Napa Soap Co.'s bath products made from grapeseed oil, make the perfect Napa Valley holiday gift. For antiques, stop in Napa Valley Vintage Home and St. Helena Antiques; and handmade gifts with a global edge may be found at Rabbit Rabbit Faire Trade. For chic apparel and shoes, visit Pearl Wonderful ClothingReeds and Foot Candy; while Pennyweight is a must stop for stationery, fountain pens, and distinctive jewelry. The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone (CIA), is home to The Spice Islands Marketplace featuring 1,700 cookbook titles, many autographed by the author, as well as cookware, bakeware, kitchen tools and utensils.

CALISTOGA

Lincoln Avenue in downtown Calistoga offers the rustic charm of a 19th century western town, and is home to a diverse collection of shops and boutiques. The Shops at Calistoga Depot, a former railroad station, features a variety of local goods, housed in restored Pullman railroad cars. Calistoga Olive Oil Co. sells organic olive oil from olive trees grown at local wineries and private estates, while Calistoga Pottery features original pieces by a husband and wife team who have been making pottery for more than 35 years. Roam Antiques & Design is a treasure trove of Paris flea market finds, while Copperfield Books is an outpost for bestsellers and author events. Stix & Stones showcases pieces from local Napa Valley artists and the work of artist Carlo Marchiori may be found at Ca'Toga Galleria D'Arte. Calistoga Country Antiques specializes in 19th century pieces with an emphasis on French country furniture, while Wine Barrel Furniture repurposes oak barrels into handcrafted furniture.
