Yangon, Myanmar - Sedona Hotel Yangon announces that it is adding an expansive and iconic addition to the existing five-star luxury hotel. Set to open in late-2015, the new wing to Sedona Hotel Yangon, complete with a high-end retail experience and a luxury spa, will position the hotel as one of the city's top destinations for visitors and locals alike.
As one of Yangon's five-star hotels, Sedona Hotel Yangon is an icon of gracious elegance, sitting on eight acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and water features with breath-taking views of the Shwedagon Pagoda and Inya Lake. Currently, the hotel offers 366 newly upgraded guest rooms and suites along with several dining options, executive club rooms and a fitness centre with a swimming pool, sauna and steam bath.
Sedona Hotel Yangon's new Inya Wing derived its name from the tranquil lake just in front of the hotel. The elegant tower will offer an additional 431 well-appointed guest rooms and suites along with a grand lobby and high-end retail gallery which will connect the new tower to the existing building. The Inya Wing will also feature a new state-of-the-art fitness centre, an all-day restaurant, a new luxury spa and an executive lounge with services and amenities specially suited for the hotel's business and leisure guests.
When it opens, the new Inya Wing will offer visitors to Yangon a retreat from the rigors of travel, with its signature Sedona services, products and amenities that which will allow them to relax and rejuvenate during their stay.
With architecture by Singapore-based Forum Architects and interiors designed by Studio HBA, one of the world's most-renowned hospitality design firms, the Inya Wing draws its inspiration from traditional Burmese culture and art interpreted into elegant, contemporary design.
The traditional Burmese umbrella is one cultural theme carried throughout the new wing from the magnificent lighting centrepiece in the lobby to the fritted glass ceiling. The lacquered rice bowl is used as a sculptural element that is incorporated into the lobby art and the guestroom lamps. The central colour palette of red and gold are woven throughout the new wing, a nod to Myanmar's traditional Buddhist influences and the region's indigenous lacquerware.
Championing green practices, Sedona Hotel Yangon has ensured that its new wing has been designed and built utilising sustainable materials and incorporated energy- and water-efficiency into the building's features.

About Sedona Hotels and Suites
The name Sedona was derived from the pure white Dendrobium Sedona orchid, which was bred for the first time in 1984 at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Under the careful nurturing of its breeders, it finally bloomed in 1994 and was unveiled at the launch ceremony of Sedona Hotels. A thing of beauty, the Dendrobium Sedona perfectly optimises the level of warm, gracious and personable hospitality the Sedona brand strives to offer.
