Madagascar
This multi-activity expedition will guide a handful of enthusiastic explorers to conquer the highs and lows of Madagascar on an epic journey from peak to sea. Scaling Pic Boby first, you'll reach altitudes of 2658m on foot before descending the massif to take to the river in a two person raft, passing through almost impregnable jungles on this human-powered mission to reach the sea. Team mates will camp under the stars, experience the island's endemic wildlife, and have their hearts warmed by the hospitality of the Malagasy people on the way, to be rewarded enormous sense of fulfilment when at last they reach the shores of the Indian Ocean.
Gabon
Straddling the equator, the tropical jungles of the Ivindo National Park are home to an abundance of forest elephants, bull elephants, gorillas, chimpanzees, colobus, mandrills, bush pigs, giant pangolins and over 400 types of bird. This exotic environment poses difficult challenges; the dense jungle habitat make for slow progress and requires adventurous spirits to be prepared to take on whatever the jungles throws their way. This expeditionary trip combines trekking and packrafting to use easily navigable waterways through this unforgivable tangle of vegetation, and team mates who join this expedition will forge their own path through equatorial Africa in a way few people will ever experience.
Papua New Guinea
For the adventurers enamoured by the challenges and rewards of rivers, this Adventure Academy expedition will enable you to navigate these temperamental waterways masterfully. Join this team to earn a Whitewater Rescue Technician qualification on Australia's Tully River before flying over to Papua New Guinea to put your new skills into practice when you raft the wild Watut river. This river has 150 rapids and descends through canyons and deep jungle. At the end of the trip you will get a chance to revel in your achievements and relax by sea kayaking and snorkelling in the idyllic seas off the coast of PNG.
