Savor Gettysburg Food Tours Kicks Off Second Season

Destination Gettysburg

Savor Gettysburg Food Tours, the latest in Gettysburg's emerging culinary scene, will kick off its second season on March 20, with its Historic Downtown Food Tour, which combines seven great stops throughout the historic town.

The tour features a variety of dishes – from appetizers and entrée samplings to wine, hard cider and dessert.

“We're so excited about our second season,” said Tour Director Lori Korczyk. “Our tour guests were so amazed last year to learn about all the great food that a small town like Gettysburg has to offer, and we're thrilled to be featuring a few new locations.”

Restaurants added to the tour in 2015 include Gettysburg Baking Company and Café on the Square, both located in the heart of Gettysburg. Other stops include Garryowen Irish Pub, One Lincoln Food & Spirits, Hauser Estate Winery, Café Saint-Amand and Mr. G's Homemade Ice Cream.

Between stops is a narrated walking tour of Downtown Gettysburg, sharing stories of the epic Civil War battle that ravaged Gettysburg. Total walking distance is just under one mile.

New in 2015 is the Savory Sweets Tour – a collection of eight stops for sweet tooths. Stops include the Wells Family Bakery, Gettysburg Baking Company, Sweeet! candy store, Reid's Orchard & Winery, Brick House Inn B&B, Sunset Ice Cream Parlor, Ragged Edge Roasting Company and the Fudge Shack.

“Our Savory Sweets Tour gives us the chance to highlight the unique eateries, amazing talent and rich history that is truly Gettysburg,” said Korczyk. “Guests should be ready for a tantalizing array of delicious treats through a decadent walking tour of Gettysburg.”

The Savory Sweets Tour kicks off on May 1.
