Flexible multi-bag luggage system for skiers and snowboarders is both practical and stylish
Raef Bjayou, TV personality and former star of The Apprentice, has been testing out the latest stylish luggage for skiers and snowboarders the 2012 Sports Bag from Live Luggage. Raef is an experienced skier and snowboarder who takes at least two winter holidays on the slopes every year and has the usual problem of packing all his skiing clothing and equipment as well as normal holiday essentials and taking it all to the airport or Eurostar terminal. Raef says: It seems crazy to me to pack a suitcase full of clothing for a holiday on the slopes which just sits in the wardrobe when you get to your destination until its time to re-pack for the return journey. Add to that the effort of dragging a normal case and all your equipment from home to the airport or to the railway station and I knew there had to be a better solution! I found it when I tried out the 2012 Sports Bag from Live Luggage. This is a multifunctional luggage system which includes a large weekend bag for heavy-duty items like ski boots, a multi-purpose rucksack and a capacious main case, which all zip together and apart for complete flexibility, so you can use the rucksack as a day pack during the holiday, take the weekend bag onto the aircraft as hand luggage, or check it in with the main case, whichever suits you. The spacious main bag is big enough for a whole winter sports trips worth of clothing, gloves, goggles, accessories and personal belongings. Snowboards and skis can be attached to the main anti-gravity handle system using simple ski clips so this is definitely the easy way to take all your precious gear with you without strain or effort. The 2012 Sports Bag PA (power-assisted) features high-technology powered wheels and a clever patented anti-gravity handle system with tilt switches and force sensors which took six years to develop. The result is luggage which feels as light as a feather, powers up when it senses gradients and kerbs and takes all the weight and effort out of pulling, avoiding any strain on the users body and allowing them to save their energy for tackling challenges on the slopes! The pancake motors (Nano technology) in the wheels are powered by rechargeable batteries and last up to 1.5 miles off a single charge, recharging easily just like a mobile phone (a charger and multi-country adaptor are included). The 2012 Sports Bag is also available in a non-powered version, with the same patented anti-gravity handle system, which puts 85% of the weight over the wheels. It is feels light, manoeuvrable and stable, completely different from old-fashioned cases with small wheels. A final verdict from Raef: This 2012 sports bag makes light work of hauling skiing and snowboard equipment of all kinds from coach or car to train to plane and is the one-purchase flexible luggage solution for the stylish winter sports enthusiast. The fashion-conscious skier or snowboarder will appreciate the 2012 sports bag in stunning polar white with black and white trim and additional thoughtful design features, such as the detachable rucksack with padded internal pocket for keeping an MP3 player securely inside out of sight, with a port to the outside for the headphones and an outside mesh pockets for storing damp items such as gloves.
The 2012 Sports Bag from Live Luggage is available in white with black and white trim and also in black. The 2012 Sports Bag PA (power-assisted) costs 445 and the 2012 Sports Bag AG(anti-gravity handle) is priced at 265. It is available from John Lewis and also from the Live Luggage website.
