£130 for an exceptional room, with king-sized bed, Egyptian cotton sheets, en-suite shower room including VAT and breakfast for up to two people?  What's the catch?  There isn't one! Owned by Honesty and honestly priced, The Crown & Garter pub and restaurant with rooms in the rural village of Inkpen, Berkshire, has ten individually designed rooms costing just £130 per night including breakfast. 

Quality, clean accommodation is rarely judicially priced.  Individually designed, small hotels often come with a 'designer' price and even basic hotel chains cost more than anticipated as the 'starting from' price is seldom available on the day you want.  Simplicity is key and at the Crown & Garter the price you see is the price you pay.  The rate is always the same whether you stay on a Monday or a Saturday and is per room, not per person. Breakfast is always included and comprises of local, seasonal produce.

All of the rooms are set around a pretty landscaped courtyard, which is set away from the pub itself, ensuring guests receive a good nights' sleep.  Each has its own charm and is decorated with fabrics, furnishings and paints from Andrew Martin, The Designers Guild, Timorous Beasties and the Little Greene Paint Company. The rooms are stylish and cosy.  The Crown and Garter is located in the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and Inkpen offers a variety of walking environments including high chalk ridges, mixed farmland and deciduous woodland. 

The Crown & Garter is open for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday from 12.00pm-2.00pm and 6.30pm-9.00pm and on Sunday from 12.30pm-3.00pm.
