To receive a luxury lodge accreditation Peppers on the Point had to pass an assessment system which outlined quality standards and criteria to be met. There were seven different areas of assessment, each one containing an extensive checklist which ensured that Peppers were confident meeting all customer expectations.

Assessment areas considered factors such as the environment, the New Zealand experience, cuisine and service, comfort and housekeeping, as well as an assessment of the booking and arrival process and guests overall satisfaction after their stay.

The Commercial Accommodation Monitor (CAM) - which monitors trends in New Zealand's commercial accommodation sector -  indicates that Qualmark properties receive a greater percentage of guest nights, and higher levels of occupancy than non-Qualmark properties.
