Massimo Restaurant & Bar at Corinthia London unveils new Aperitivo Hour, inspired by Chef's Neapolitan family heritage

Massimo Restaurant & Bar at Corinthia Hotel London invites guests to live 'La Dolce Vita' with a complimentary selection of freshly-baked Italian aperitivo in Massimo Bar. This offering has been created by Head Chef Andrea Cirino, and features the bold, honest, southern Italian aperitivo dishes of his youth in Mezzogiorno.

When guests buy a drink of their choice between 5.30-7pm, be this a zingy Aperol Spritz, a crisp glass of Prosecco, or some fragrantGrappa, they may  wind down to the taste of  Massimo's authentic light bites made using fresh and locally sourced ingredients.

From delicious Olives all'Ascolana (stuffed olives from the Ascoli region), to crispy Arancini (rice balls coated with breadcrumbs) and mellow Frittata's (enriched egg croquettes), Massimo's aperitivo selection is the perfect complimentary accompaniment for pre-dinner aperitifs or casual evening drinks.

Included in Massimo Bar's aperitivo menu is an array of freshly baked breads, including spinach and ricotta-stuffed Stromboli,rich-flavoured focaccia al pomodoro, and crispier crostini's.

Massimo Bar further boasts an extensive antipasti charcuterie counter, serving regional cheeses and cured meats for a true taste of the Mediterranean.

With an integral role in Italian social life, aperitivo is traditionally intended to 'open' the palate before the main dining experience. “In Italy eating and meeting are very intertwined, so you can easily lose track of time.  You meet for a quick aperitivo and end up lingering over a dinner made up of small bites of your favourite food” says Andrea Cirino.

Andrea Cirino became Head Chef at Massimo Restaurant & Bar in August 2014. His authentic Southern Italian training, extensive experience at Michelin-star restaurants, a degree in International Culinary Arts, and genuine passion for fresh and quality ingredients, all make him a valuable asset to Massimo Restaurant.

Art Deco in style, the David Collins Studio designed Massimo Restaurant & Bar is a striking space lined with statuesque Corinthian columns.
