More Than Just Panoramic Views Await at Tokyo Skytree

Tokyo Skytree – since opening in 2012, the 634-meter-high broadcasting and observation tower has become one of the most iconic landmarks of Tokyo. Tourists and locals alike flock here for the 360° views of the city scape, stretching all the way to Mount Fuji. In addition, it is the centrepiece of the modern commercial centre known as Tokyo Skytree Town, which spans between Tobu Railway's Tokyo Skytree Station and Tokyo Metro's Oshiage Station.

At the base of Tokyo Skytree is Tokyo Solamachi, a space that houses over 300 hundred shopping and entertainment establishments. From the bottom to the top, there is a whole range of exciting things to see and do in Tokyo Skytree Town!

Your day can begin at the 1st floor of the Tokyo Skytree complex, where you can see the 'Sumida River Digital Picture Scroll' depicting the city and the life of people in the Edo Period over 13 digital monitors. After immersing yourself in the rich history of Japan, you can visit the various shops and restaurants spread over the numerous floors of Tokyo Solamachi.

For a late breakfast or lunch, you can visit one of the many restaurants, bakeries, cafes, or sweets stores in the Solamachi Table-Terrace Food court on the 3rd Floor. If you did not find anything to you fancy here, there are even more restaurants with international cuisines offered in the 'Solamachi Dining' areas on the 6th and 7th floors.

The 4th floor is perfect for craft lovers or those in need of a gift with a dedicated Japanese souvenir zone, where you will find countless high quality made in Japan products as well as items that are only sold within the Tokyo Solamachi complex. This is definitely the place to work through your souvenir list!

You can also see the 'Super Craft Tree'which are 12 miniature models of Tokyo Skytree made from bamboo, Edo cut glass and other traditional crafts, really showcasing the beauty of Japanese culture.

Sea creatures and Night Skies
For those needing a break from the shops, the Sumida Aquarium or the 'Tenku' Planetarium is a great place for couples and families to relax and spend time within Tokyo Solamachi. Situated over the 5th and 6th floors, the Sumida Aquarium is a beautifully designed modern aquarium that is home to over 10,000 sea creatures. As it has no fixed route, visitors can enjoy the exhibits at their own pace.

The Tenku Planetarium Meshes education and entertainment together so that visitors can unwind in an enchanting high-resolution stargazing experience. They also have vibrant collaborated shows with music artists and shows that use aromas for healing experiences, an ultimate multi-sensory adventure that the whole family can enjoy!

As your day wraps up, head to Floor 450 to take a walk in the sky. The sloped Tembo Galleria tunnel leads to the 'Sorakara', which is the highest point of Tokyo Skytree, a breathtaking 450 metres above the city. This is the perfect spot to see the sun set over the metropolis.

Finally, you can end your day with a meal at the elegant 'Sky Restaurant Musashi'. With panoramic views of the whole city, enjoy a divine dinner while overlooking the thousands of glittering lights of Tokyo's skyline.
