Medina Now Stretches From Coast To Coast With Its 2Oth Property
The Medina Group has announced that it will be offering the travel industry a range of accommodation in Perth, with the addition of two new four and five star serviced apartment properties expected to open in early 2004.
The addition of the Perth market, the 6th capital city to feature the Medina brand, marks the 20th property to be operated by the group, which was established in 1982.
Medina will be operating the Medina Grand Perth Convention Centre, part of the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, currently under construction by Multiplex in the heart of the city's CBD.
The $28 million Medina Grand, expected to be the showpiece of the Convention Centre, will have 138 luxury apartments over five levels, with a restaurant on-site, three meeting rooms, pool, gymnasium, spa and sauna.
Medina has also signed an operating agreement to manage the Medina Executive Barrack Plaza at busy Barrack Street, a mixed-use development by Central City Pty Ltd.
There will be 100 serviced apartments at Medina Executive Barrack Plaza, comprising a mix of studio, one and two bedroom apartments. The four star operation will feature a restaurant, pool, gymnasium and meeting rooms.
Managing Director of Medina, Mr Allan Vidor, said, The addition of the Perth properties means that we have wide coverage in the four and five star markets nationally, where we can cater for the full range of corporate travellers, conference delegates and families".
He added, "We will be offering a range of aggressively priced, attractive conference, mid-week and weekend packages to our clients travelling to Perth."
The addition of the Perth properties follows Medina's successful $20 million transformation of Adelaides historic Treasury Building into a luxury, five star apartment hotel.
The Adelaide property, which is posting consistently high occupancy levels, is located in the centre of the CBD, on the corner of King William and Flinders Streets, close to retail shops, cafes, restaurants & local attractions.
Medina, which is actively looking for more opportunities to expand its management throughout Australia, currently operates properties in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Canberra.
