For more than a year, Le Méridien Melbourne's Monthly Wine Masterclass has quietly built a loyal following in Melbourne.

Held on the last Friday of every month at INTERMISSION, the hotel's wine bar and lobby lounge, the cellar-door-style series has become an after-dark fixture for those in the know, selling out edition after edition through a format that feels relaxed, social, and sharply priced.

Designed as an after-work or pre-dinner event, each one-hour tasting brings together four premium wines, light bites, and direct access to the winemaker in an intimate setting. Guests come solo, with friends, or as part of a standing Friday ritual, with the format proving just as suited to meeting new people as it is to starting the evening well.

Previous editions have featured winemakers and houses including Penfolds, Punt Road, Onannon, Chalmers, Hirsch Hill, and G.H. Mumm. With only 45 seats available for each event, tickets tend to move quickly as soon as they are released.

This April, the series welcomes Scorpo Wines, the Mornington Peninsula producer led by Paul Scorpo.

Based at the family vineyard in Merricks North, Scorpo is known for finely tuned cool-climate wines, particularly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with a style defined by precision, clarity and a strong sense of place. Hosted by Paul Scorpo, the April masterclass offers a closer look at the winery, the region and the thinking behind each pour.

Priced at $55 per person, the event offers standout value. Tickets include the guided tasting, chef-selected light bites, conversation with the winemaker, and special pricing on take-home and drink-in wine purchases.

Guests who attend also become part of Le Méridien Melbourne's Wine Club, with first access to future releases before tickets go on sale more broadly.
