LA/Ontario International Airport Provides Service and Accessibility for Visitors to Eastern Los Angeles or Palm Springs

LOS ANGELES—(April 22, 2012)—LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT), part of Los Angeles World Airports, is located approximately 35 miles east of Downtown LA and is an accessible airport for visitors headed to the eastern regions of Los Angeles or the Palm Springs area resort communities.
ONT's first pair of concrete runways was built in 1942 to aid the war effort. Today, this full-service airport is a medium-hub offering commercial flights to several major cities nationwide with through service to many international destinations. ONT offers more than 114 daily flights and services approximately 4.5 million passengers annually aboard carriers such as Aeromexico, Alaska, American, Delta, Southwest, United/United Express, and US Airways.
This world-class transportation facility includes twin terminals, which are eight times larger than the airport's former terminals and collectively measure more than a half-million square feet with annual passenger capacity of 10 million. The $270 million project also included a new ground transportation center, an additional parking lot and roadway system, airfield improvements, landscaping and a site storm-drain system.
Just a few miles from ONT is Ontario Mills, California's largest outlet shopping destination with more than 200 specialty stores, including a Coach Factory, Movado, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren Polo. The indoor shopping mecca features a collection of quick-service eateries and sit-down restaurants and offers free wireless Internet to its guests. Ontario Mills also has a 30-screen movie theater, which shows first-run films. Tour participants will receive a personal VIP tour experience of the center and a special gift.
Those who prefer fermentation to fashion can sample some excellent wines at San Antonio Winery. Established nearly a century ago in Los Angeles by the Riboli family, San Antonio Winery remains a family-run business, operated by the founding vintner's heirs. The tasting room is housed in a striking villa-like structure, where oenophiles can enjoy a complimentary trio tasting from the winery's selected list, or, for a nominal fee, partake in the Artisan Series Tasting with a flight of three or four limited-reserve wines from the Riboli Family Estate. The gift shop stocks a selection of California wines, along with many international vintages, and is the perfect stop to browse for gifts before boarding a flight.
