Kenya Tourist Board

The Kenya Tourist Board (KTB), the Hon. Minister of Tourism and Wildlife, E.K. San Francisco is one of the top U.S. source markets for travel to Kenya. After a nationwide tour, the delegation will finish its educational expedition in San Francisco, which will provide an estimated 22,000 Bay Area consumers to learn more about the quintessential safari experience in Magical Kenya by visiting the Kenya Tourist Board and the following operators at the Adventures in Travel Expo: African Quest Safaris, Ltd., Abercrombie & Kent Ltd., Chronicle Tours and Travel, Dallago Tours and Safaris Ltd., GoWay Travel, Heritage Hotels, Kenya Airways, Kenya Wildlife Service, Lake Nakuru Lodge, Liberty Africa Safaris Ltd., Micato Safaris, Nature Expeditions Africa Ltd., Serena Hotels, Silver Africa Tours & Safaris and Somak Safaris.

Visitors to the Adventures in Travel Expo and their families will have a unique opportunity to experience a special cultural event presented by the KTB at the San Mateos Expo Centers Main on Saturday, October 9. At 2pm, the Narasha Cultural Centre dancers will be performing traditional Kenyan dances on the main stage. This group is from the Lake Naivasha area of Kenya, which borders Hells Gate National Park (featured in Paramount Pictures Tombraider II) and Enoosupikia area of Narok district.

The cultural group is run by local tribes people that promote their handicrafts, culture and establish self-help projects in order to improve the living standards of their local community especially in educating their youth and women. They are members of the National Environment Management Authority of Kenya and work to conserve Kenya and Naivashas environment, habitat and culture. After this energetic dance performance, visitors will be able to join the Kenya Tourist Board for a 30 minute, multi-media presentation on traveling to Magical Kenya and highlighting some of the adventurous activities available to travelers.
