Already a huge success on BBC Wales and a massive iPlayer hit, Keeping Faith – a Carmarthen-set thriller series – has now hit the screens of BBC1 each Thursday evening.
The drama stars Eve Myles as Faith. She is a lawyer, wife and mother who is drawn into a mystery when her husband and business partner, Evan, disappears.
It does for Carmarthenshire (where most of it was filmed) what Broadchurch did for Dorset. Filming was mainly around Laugharne – a town on the south coast and was once the home to the poet Dylan Thomas – the beautiful town of Carmarthen, plus locations along the jaw-dropping coastline.
For those who wish to explore Carmarthenshire, Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire – located just across the county border – features a selection of properties including, for example, The Great House. This is a superbly restored grand Georgian town house in Laugharne - with an outdoor heated swimming pool – which sleeps 10. Prices for seven nights in September start at £1345.
Or Ty Dyffryn is a beautiful barn conversion set in 35 acres of park and farmland on the edge of the Brechfa Forest and just a 10-minute drive from Carmarthen. It sleeps four in two bedrooms and costs from £454 for a week's holiday in September.
