Join Saxony's first virtual fam trip

TMGS Tourismus Marketing Gesellschaft Sachsen mbH

London, 4 November 2020. Another lockdown does not have to stop us from exploring the world: Saxony Tourism has set up a virtual “Saxony in six days and six hours“ fam trip for travel press and trade.

On six consecutive days from 13 to 18 November, participants will get to know a range of destinations and attractions in one-hour live YouTube sessions. Hosted by Wolfgang Gärtner, Head of International Marketing at Saxony Tourism, the virtual tour recreates a fam trip and includes video footage, a short wrap-up of each day of “the trip“, studio guests and Q&A options.

“This is a first for us and an experiment we're very much looking forward to,“ says Wolfgang Gärtner. „We hope to be able to provide travel writers and travel trade professionals with inspiring insights into Saxony and transport them as best as possible in the current situation to all the places that make our region so special.“

Each live stream starts at 4 pm (5 pm CET) for about 60 minutes, and the itinerary takes participants from baroque beauty Dresden all the way to Germany's easternmost city Görlitz on the Polish border, including, among others, stops in Saxon Switzerland National Park for stunning scenery, the Ore Mountains with their unique Christmas traditions and the “city of music“ Leipzig. For ultimate flexibility, participants can pick and choose which sessions to join based on their interests or take part in the entire 6-day virtual fam trip.
