The unrelenting quest for cataloguing the most unique accommodation to be found on the planet continues for Host Unusual, who are launching a brand new range of worldwide properties today in response to demand from their users.  Co-Founder Alex Wilson explains more:

"We've had quite a few of our loyal users contact us to ask us if we have considered adding more properties in non-UK destinations, and it's true that many countries and regions have their own unique property types that are fascinating and have huge appeal, such as cave houses in Andalucia, igloos and ice hotels in the Arctic regions and traditional Trulli in Italy. We now have over 400 well established partner properties in the UK, so we felt it was time to branch out and discover some of these incredible worldwide gems and showcase them to our users. Some of the places we are discovering are so incredibly unique - we can't wait to start showing people!"

The variety and contrast of these new properties is impressive, from luxury rooms high up in cranes and TV towers, or deep in hidden bunkers and subterranean suites, and with climates ranging from the icy delights of igloos to steamy tropical rainforests, where converted planes and treehouses, amongst others, are ready to welcome guests.

To coincide with this launch, there has been an update to the property search function on the website, and users can now use an interactive map where they can filter their search results by geographical location, accommodation type and key lifestyle filters such as family friendly, adults only and more.

"We ran some small focus group sessions with some friends and users and it became apparent that we needed to change the way people can search for properties and make it a little more sophisticated, and many people specifically wanted to have an easy way to locate, for example, dog friendly properties in a particular region like Cornwall.  The new search not only allows for this but has a preview of each property and you can change/refine your search parameters quickly and easily, making it a user friendly search tool."

There will also be a post-Christmas competition running from late December through to the end of January, giving followers the chance to win one of two free accommodation prizes at a popular property partner of Host Unusual, which promises to kick 2018 off with a bang.  Users should follow the Facebook page for regular updates.
