Croatia offers best saving this year

Research conducted by the UK's leading online travel agent On the Beach has revealed that holidays to several popular destinations such as the Greek Islands and Croatia are cheaper this year compared to last, with some holidays 50% cheaper than in 2013.

Europe

Tipped to become a major holiday destination amongst sun starved Brits, summer holidays to Croatia are on average a massive 50% cheaper this summer compared to last. As a destination outside of the Eurozone, in resort costs are often cheaper than other destinations.

Research also shows holidays to several popular Greek islands are cheaper this year, with both Corfu and Samos 8% cheaper than last year. Other islands offering better deals include Crete and Kefalonia, both down 3% on the previous year.  With the Pound recently hitting a twenty two month high against the Euro, holidaymakers will get more bang for their buck when in resort.

Africa

Holidays in popular destinations across Africa are also cheaper this year compared to last, with the Egyptian resort of Hurghada offering the biggest saving with prices on average down 10% on the previous year. Holidays in Tunisia are also slightly cheaper this year, down 4% on average.

Long-haul

For those looking to travel further afield, there are huge savings to be had with the Caribbean island of Dominican Republic 23% cheaper than the previous year. Holidays to Barbados and St Lucia are also both down on average 20%.
