LAKE PLACID, NY  – Lake Placid's historic hotel, the Northwoods Inn is re-launching with a new brand, renovated rooms, and a new name: Hotel North Woods.

When renovations wrap up this June, the independently owned Hotel North Woods will feature 92 newly refurbished suites offering all of the modern conveniences of their more expensive counterparts in an unrivaled location, according to the Hotel's owners.  

“We wanted most of all, to preserve the heritage of the original Northwoods Inn, and the Lake Placid – Marcy, and to develop a contemporary, but complimentary response to this legacy: something with both mountain sense, and village style,” said Gary Smith, one of the owners of the hotel.  “With outrageous views of the high peaks, award winning live music, full food and beverage services, a fresh design forward renovation of all of our guest room areas, and Main Street an elevator ride away from your guest room, we believe we have met the challenge.”

On June 12, the owners of Hotel North Woods will host a cocktail reception and re-launch of their new brand for the media and public at the 2520 Main Street, Lake Placid location. Tours of the new rooms and amenities will be offered, and details of the event will be announced via the Hotel's website, www.HotelNorthWoods.com  on May 18, 2015.

To complement the hotel's new brand and momentum, the Smiths will launch a new series of packages and programming to supplement the guest experience, including “Outward Hound,” the hotel's pet-friendly offering that includes a designer dog bed, set of bowls and house-made dog treats, as well as a guide to local pet-friendly locations, hikes and activities.

“Our goal is to establish a powerful and unique, independently owned brand experience in Lake Placid and the Adirondacks,” said Tracy Smith, Principal at Smith & Co. Creative, the marketing firm responsible for the hotel's new look. “From custom rental bikes to branded door hangers and coffee mugs, to the “Outward Hound” program, every detail has been designed to create an authentic Adirondack experience re-imagined in a modern context.”

This summer, the Hotel will once again provide a program-rich calendar for guests and visitors, including the upcoming Lake Placid Blues & Heritage Festival, which will kick off June 19-21, and feature over 20 blues bands at Delta Blue and other venues in Lake Placid.
