As the UK approaches its 4th week of the heatwave with more tropical weather still to come, it appears as though Brits' interest in summer staycations could be increasing.  Since the start of the heatwave Skyscanner has seen an increase in hotel and flight searches to UK sun spots.  Torquay saw a massive 169% increase in hotel searches for August, Bournemouth a 114% increase, and Brighton was up 63%¹.  For flight searches for June to August, London Southend was up 45%, Newquay up 23%, and Southampton up 17%².
