Elkins Ranch Buys Cowboy Morning Breakfast

Amarillo Convention & Visitors Bureau

Elkins Ranch, a family-owned western attraction specializing in Jeep rides and chuckwagon meals in Palo Duro Canyon, has purchased the name Cowboy Morning, and will operate beginning this spring under the new name Elkins Ranch Cowboy Morning Breakfast.

We are very pleased to acquire this well-known brand for Elkins Ranch, Mary Corrigan, owner of Elkins Ranch, says. Cowboy Morning developed a national reputation for a quality experience, one we will continue and improve as the name merges with our Elkins Ranch operation.

Elkins Ranch is located next to the entrance of Palo Duro Canyon State Park, on Texas Highway 217 about 25 miles from Amarillo. The ranch covers thousands of acres of sprawling rangeland and scenic canyon land. Within ranch boundaries lies miles of the magnificent Palo Duro Canyon. The Elkins Ranch Cowboy Morning Breakfast will be offered daily from April through October and reservations will be required.

Guests to Elkins Ranch Cowboy Morning Breakfast will receive a 15-minute Jeep ride tour of Palo Duro Canyon en route to the campsite nestled against the canyon's cliffs. Breakfast will include scrambled eggs, sausage, country-style potatoes, buttermilk biscuits, cream gravy, cinnamon rolls, fruit, cowboy coffee and juice. Cowboy Morning Breakfast guests will be entertained by local singer/songwriter Ed Montana.

A chuckwagon dinner, featuring a mesquite-grilled rib eye steak, will also be offered in the evening from April to October.

Elkins Ranch also features Jeep tours of Palo Duro Canyon. Guests can choose from five exciting tours. Trained drivers/guides help visitors discover the rich history, Native American culture, geology, flora and fauna of Palo Duro Canyon while traveling through the breathtaking and remote canyon terrain. Tours are offered daily all year, weather permitting. Reservations for Jeep tours are recommended.
