In partnership with the Seoul City Tour, the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) has recently launched the "DMZ Tour Bus" for tourists who want to learn more about the history and present situation of the DMZ. The Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), the only existing border in the world with regulations on public access , attracts a great deal of public interest and is one of the top destinations for travellers visiting Korea.
Due to complicated security procedures and limited public access to the area, it was difficult for individual tourists to visit the zone. But with the DMZ Tour Bus up and running, the DMZ is now made more accessible to the public. The tour bus will run regularly regardless of the number of passengers. There will be also a guide (proficient in English, Japanese and Chinese) on board to help the tourists along the way.
The bus departs at 8:00 every morning from the KTO Headquarters. Reservations can be made by phone at +82-2-774-3345 or through the seoulcitytour.net website. The tour costs 46,000 won per person.
