Colours of Angsana celebrated the official opening of Maison Souvannaphoum Hotel in the ancient royal city of Luang Prabang recently, thus formalising the entry of Angsana Resorts & Spa into Laos. This colonial-style hotel is set to redefine luxury that embodies Luang Prabangs sense of tradition and modernity.
Through a lease agreement, the former royal residence of Prince Souvannaphouma has been carefully restored by the Singapore-based luxury resort and spa operator, which is a part of the Banyan Tree group of companies, with renovations spanning nearly 12 months.
The hotels interior was redesigned with accents of bright colours and Asian crafts; extensive refurbishment has been carried out to the faade, guest rooms and dining area to reflect the vivacious personality of the Angsana brand. The hotel also features the Groups signature Angsana Spa and Angsana Gallery.
Maison Souvannaphoum Hotel marks a start point for guests whose purposeful journey through the ancient town allows them to catch a glimpse of the rich history this beautiful country has on offer, said Banyan Tree Group Chairman Ho Kwon Ping. As a gateway that showcases the diverse heritage of Luang Prabang, this hotel is also the flagship for Colours of Angsana, and serves as a reference point for future properties.
Located opposite the Provincial Office in the heart of town near the Namphou Square (or town fountain), the hotel has a sprawling garden and courtyard, with its own lap pool and water feature. It has four suites Maison, Laos, Champa, and La Residence Twin in La Residence (Main Building) and another 18 rooms in the new wing; of these, eight Verandah Rooms are on the upper floor and 10 Garden Rooms on the lower floor. The room size ranges from 29 to 68 square metres.
The town of Luang Prabang is surrounded by breathtaking views of mountains, the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers, temples and numerous other attractions that will delight visitors with its myriad of sights, sounds, nature, culture and history.
In line with the Colours of Angsana promise of soft adventure and cultural tourism experience, Maison Souvannaphoum offers guests tour options that present a collage of the sights and heritage of IndoChina.
