October 2016: This winter, Badrutt's Palace and three Michelin-starred chef, Andreas Caminada, create a stir in St Moritz with the opening of IGNIV, an innovative Swiss culinary experience designed with sharing in mind. IGNIV, meaning 'nest' in Rhaeto Romantic, Switzerland's fourth official language, takes residence in the iconic hotel's Le Relais restaurant.
The new nest is the award-winning Andreas Caminada's second IGNIV venture, with an existing restaurant residing in nearby wellbeing resort, Grand Resort Bad Ragaz. Renowned for his creativity and innovation in the culinary sphere, Caminada invites gourmands to embark on a gastronomic experience built on the philosophy of sharing, bringing guests together to enjoy fresh, perfectly executed dishes, served on sharing platters that are passed around the table, recreating the relaxed ambience of a family meal at home.
'Andreas Caminada and his unique culinary creations perfectly compliment the dining offerings at Badrutt's Palace. We're very excited to be welcoming Caminada to the family, and we're looking forward to a successful collaboration' comments Hans Wiedemann, Managing Director and Delegate of the Board.
The existing Le Relais restaurant, boasting panoramic views of the snow peppered Engadin Valley and Lake St Moritz, is being redesigned to embody IGNIV's signature, cosy 'nest' ambience; offering diners a space in which to share time, fine wine and gourmet cuisine. 'We're thrilled to be opening a second nest and are looking forward to a successful collaboration of two prestigious and historic hotels' explains Peter Tschirky, CEO Grand Resort Bad Ragaz.
