The latest version of the indispensable, free to download Marrakech Riad App is now available, offering an even more comprehensive, personalised guide to Morocco's most popular city break destination – soon to be served by a new four-weekly British Airways flight from London Heathrow. 

Written by British expat Mike Wood – owner of boutique property portfolio, Marrakech Riad – and first launched in 2014, the App helps users to keep track of their location without incurring data roaming charges with a GPS responsive map. The latest version allows users to easily browse and ´favourite' places to help plan and customise a trip, with over 400 points of interest. It also provides easy-to-use online booking for accommodation as well as cookery courses, spa treatments and excursions usually only available to Marrakech Riad guests. 

There are also background profiles on tourist attractions, up to the minute guides and discounts for restaurants and bars as well as guided walks through the main historic districts. 

Other highlights include: 

• Significantly expanded 'getting around' section with detailed information on everything from buses and the Medina Bikes share scheme to horse and carriage tours
• Updated restaurant and shops information 

“This is a big upgrade,” says Mike Wood. “Nothing about this vibrant city is static and it's essential that we keep refreshing the app to keep up to speed with progress. The whole area around the Medina is being upgraded with various refurbishments to major attractions and funding from UNESCO for repairs around the city's streets and shop fronts. 

“Essentially no one person's experience of Marrakech will be the same and we wanted people to be able to use the App to personalise their trip. We're already getting rave reviews.” 

The App is currently available in nine languages, with a Catalan version planned for this summer. 

The Marrakech Riad Travel Guide can be downloaded from the iTunes store free of charge. The Android version will follow shortly.
