The biggest comparison site for holiday apartments has obtained important deals with leaders of the sector, making it the reference website for its industry

Barcelona-  In less than a year, www.apartum.com, the number one comparison site for holiday apartments has successfully been able to add the most important companies of the vacation rental industry to its platform. The company now compares more than half a million apartments and, following the deals it has reached with the leading companies of the sector, offers 25,000 new destinations in 50 markets around the world. Additionally, the website is now available in eight languages and has launched a new platform that is entirely adapted to mobiles and tablets.

The start-up has been constantly growing since its creation. Less than a year after its launch, it has managed to make important partnerships with leading companies of the vacation rental industry, which has enabled apartum to offer the best range of holiday apartments on its platform: half a million vacation homes. The website helps users in their search for the best accommodation for their holiday, allowing them to compare different options as well as save up to 40%: the site automatically identifies agencies that manage the same apartment and shows the user the different agency prices for that flat, helping to make substantial savings.

After launching in markets such as Spain, France, Italy and the U.S, where it is in full growth phase, apartum decided to widen its horizons and to open up new markets, including Germany, the Netherlands, Brazil and Russia, strengthening its international presence. 

Apartum is also launching a new design for its website as well as a platform that is entirely adapted to mobiles and tablets, adding numerous functions such as the ability to share information about selected apartments with others, as well as create a list of your favorite apartments, which you can access from any device at any moment.

A growing industry

The vacation rental industry has substantially grown and become more dynamic over the last few years. Today it is worth more than 85 million dollars annually (roughly 63 million euros) in the U.S and Europe alone. The growth in this industry has been spurred by the great increase in the number of agencies specializing in vacation rentals that manage and provide a safe rental process for the client. The boom of online users and searchers is another important contributing factor to the growth, as nowadays many people consult the internet before choosing and organizing their holidays.

In the setting of the global economic crisis, the holiday apartments sector has continued to grow at an annual rate of 20% as more and more users opt for this type of accommodation, especially given the excellent price-quality ratio, the simplicity of usage as well as for the possibility of a unique experience, tailored to the chosen destination.

The United States is the first country in the worldwide ranking in this particular industry, followed by France, Spain, Italy, Germany and Brazil.
