Andante Travels has been announced as the silver winner of Best Holiday Company to the Italian Peninsula and the silver winner of the Best Special Interest Holiday Company at the prestigious 2018 British Travel Awards. The announcement was made on 28th November at a glamorous Gala Awards ceremony, held in London and attended by more than 800 travel industry people.
With a small, dedicated team of experts based in Salisbury, Wiltshire, Andante Travels is delighted to accept the awards, having won three others in the past for both customer service and holidays to the Italian peninsula. The staff at Andante have a true appreciation for the spirit of adventure, for experiencing new cultures in responsible and authentic ways, and for broadening one's horizons through travel, so the win is a fantastic celebration of the team's ethos and continued hard work.
Jackie Willis, CEO of Specialist Journeys, said: “Being new to the Specialist Journeys Group, I was delighted to see that two of our companies – Andante Travels and Brightwater Holidays – were nominated for these prestigious awards. Seeing Andante Travels win silver in both the Best Holiday Company to the Italian Peninsula and Best Special Interest Holiday Company categories has made both myself and our team incredibly proud. What's more, seeing that our guests took the time to vote for us has given us all such pride in knowing that we supply exquisite tours in our niche areas of expertise, and it spurs us on to keep looking for those special travel experiences for our guests in the future.”
British Travel Awards' chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said: “Andante Travels is to be congratulated on winning silver in both the Best Holiday Company to the Italian Peninsula and Best Special Interest Holiday Company categories. The British Travel Awards are the only travel industry accolade voted for exclusively by the consumer and the Awards serve to recognise all that is great about travel, as experienced by the travelling public. To win a British Travel Award is a true achievement.”
