Singapore -  Singaporeans are travelling more, and their average spend on flight and hotel options has increased by at least five per cent this year, as announced by the region's leading online travel agent  ZUJISingapore. The online travel booking site saw a 20 per cent and 15 per cent year-on-year (YOY) increase in travel to Europe, and Australia & New Zealand respectively, showing that Singaporeans are travelling further in 2013.

The research also eyed trends within Asia, noting that the number of travellers to Seoul has seen a 50 per cent boost, and the sum of Singaporeans travelling to Hokkaido has tripled YOY. Comparing favourite beach destinations, Bali triumphed over Phuket as the top sandy escape with a new competitor, the Maldives, on the radar. The once exquisite and luxurious honeymoon destination is now transforming into a popular getaway not just for couples, but also friends and families having seen bookings to Male triple YOY.
