Families visiting Cornwall this summer will need to prepare themselves for a piratical adventure with the Pirate's Quest crew and their Summer of Scoundrels and Scallywags event (24th July – 2nd September).
The live pirate performers will be tasked with guiding new recruits through the history of piracy, transporting them back 300 years to the Golden Age of Piracy. Armed with a treasure map new recruits will need to solve the clues in order to claim their pirate treasure.
The new storyline for 2019 gives new recruits the chance to crown their own Pirate Hero as they hear tales of Black Bart the Puritan Pirate, Anne Bonny the Princess of Piracy, Henry Every the Pirate King or the notorious Captain Blackbeard. It will then be down to each group of visitors to vote which Pirate Hero they will crown as leader of the Republic of Pirates.
Beginning their voyage on the doomed Royal Anne, groups will continue on their journey through secret passages to the coves of Lizard Point and beyond. On their quest for treasure visitors will stop off at Towan Blystra docks and will even have the chance to visit Blackbeards Tavern, a scene originally introduced to Pirate's Quest to mark the 300th Anniversary of the famous Captain's death in 2018.
The Pirate's Quest Experience also includes a detour through the Cornish Land of Legend, a mythical realm filled with Arthurian knights and gruesome giants.
Man the decks, weigh anchor and join Calico Jack and his crew on a piratical voyage of discovery throughout the holiday season at Pirate's Quest in Newquay, Cornwall.
