Palma Launches Its First Family Travel Guide and Reinforces the City's Position as a Leading Destination for Multi-Generational Travel

Palma de Mallorca

Palma Tourist Board has launched its new family travel guide to support families planning a post-lockdown escape to Mallorca. The guide is packed with fun activities to do in Palma all year round and recommendations of the best child-friendly hotels in Palma and Playa de Palma.

The rising trend for multigenerational trips has spurred the tourism authority to widen its appeal for the family market and showcase the best of the city. Pedro Homar, Manager of Palma Tourist Board, says:

“Palma and Mallorca has always been a firm favourite for British families. To make the most of your holiday and that much needed quality time with loved ones post-lockdown, we have launched our family travel guide which outlines all the fantastic things we have in the city for families to enjoy together. The guide has been specifically designed to showcase how Palma's tourism proposition appeals to all ages, providing endless fun, culture, great weather and a wide range of activities to enjoy together.”

Palma de Mallorca, with its nearby beaches, family-friendly accommodation, mild climate and short flight time from the UK, is a perfect destination for a family getaway. Its bay, Playa de Palma, stands out as a spectacular gateway to the sea, where guests can enjoy the Mediterranean, its sun and its beaches to the full.

Beyond the beaches, Palma has a wide range of restaurants, large open 'plazas' where kids can play whilst Palma's old town is full of history, culture and interesting stories to discover by foot or by bike.

Palma is home to major family attractions such as Palma Aquarium, an excellent marine park which boasts Europe's deepest shark tank or Pueblo Español, an open-air museum featuring recreated Spanish buildings & landmarks with an events programme for the little ones.

Mallorca's capital is a great base for exploring the rest of the island and some of the most popular day trips are featured in the guide, from family-friendly hiking in the Tramuntana mountains to a short boat ride to the islet of Cabrera, declared a nature and bird reserve, and lots more.
