Each August, for the past 52 years, music fans have flocked to the Philadelphia Folk Festival in Schwenksville, Pa., the longest continuously-running outdoor musical festival of its kind in North America. The event features "straight-through programming": bands take the stage at 11 a.m. and continue strumming and singing until midnight.
