Grand American Adventures Launches New In-Depth Experiences for 2018

Grand American Adventures

For 2018, specialist USA small groups operator, Grand American Adventures has launched seven new 'In-depth' tours of North America - each just one-week long - that are perfect for experience-seeking, time limited travellers. Although shorter than the existing portfolio, these tours offer a real 'in-depth' experience, where travellers will delve into some of the most extraordinary natural wonders of North America. They'll also stay in upscale accommodation along the way, often characterised by the destination, such as boutique lodges and ranches, as well as 'under the stars' experiences in yurts and cabins. The new tours are available online now. www.grandamericanadventures.com

The seven new 'In-depth' tours offer a tantalising mix of adventurous week-long trips including 4*+ accommodation, extensive expert guiding and popular, 'must visit' inclusions. Primarily starting on Saturdays, the 28 departures are perfectly constructed to combine with a city or coast break, or as a stand-alone tour for travellers short on time but still seeking a truly memorable adventure. New 'In-Depth' tour prices range from £1,649 pp to £2,829 pp (exc flights) and take in:

Alaska & Kenai Peninsula In-depth (departs Anchorage);

  • Experience pristine national parks, sparkling fjords and incredible wildlife in America's largest state. Explore the Kenai Peninsula with its creaking glaciers, incredible hiking, wilderness kayaking and a day's float plane ride to Lake Clark in search of bears.

Olympic & Vancouver Island In-depth (departs Seattle);

  • Old growth forests, incredible hiking and wild coastline in Olympic National Park plus amazing bear and whale watching Zodiac tours around Vancouver Island.

Canyon Country In-depth (departs Durango);

  • South West desert, canyons, adventure and luxury including private back roads tour of Monument Valley with the Navajo and back country desert experience of Moab's beautiful slot canyons and towering arches.

Yosemite & Tahoe In-depth (departs San Francisco);

Yellowstone & Teton In-depth (departs Jackson);

  • Explore the true wild west of Yellowstone and Grand Teton with geysers, bubbling pools of mud, spectacular views and incredible wildlife tracking by day with comfortable ranch stays or wilderness glamping teepees at night.

Yellowstone Winter Wildlife In-depth (departs Bozeman);

  • Winter reveals a side most tourists never see in the world's first national park – stay within the national park, explore with a wolf and wildlife tracking expert, learn how to cross country ski and snow shoe in search of wildlife. Stay in cosy lodges and take in the enormous starry sky at night from a hot tub.

 Appalachian Trail In-depth (departs Boston);

  • Leave civilization behind and head into the White Mountains National Forest. Led by specialist Appalachian Mountain Guides, carry your own pack, stay in mountain huts and hike one of the most impressive sections of this famed trail.

“We have developed this new 'In-depth' product category in response to two key travel trends at the moment – the desire people have for rich, life-fulfilling experiences coupled with the need for shorter holidays, commented Richard Hanson, Managing Director.

“We have looked carefully at our product offering to make sure we have a great Americas experience for every type of leisure or business traveller, deepening the range of product in terms of nights, accommodation types, increased expert guiding and bucket list inclusions. We have also developed new tours to on-trend destinations that will work with today's time challenged traveller”, he concluded.
