World leader in online hotel bookings, Booking.com, has honoured the Watermark Hotel & Spa Gold Coast in its esteemed 2014 Award of Excellence program.

The Award of Excellence is given out by Booking.com to properties annually, in honour of their achievements over the past year, as measured by their overall guest review score.

The Hotel's Revenue Manager, Russell Petts, said it was a great endorsement of the property and its many staff, especially on the back of the recent acknowledgement by one of Asia's leading hotel booking sites Agoda.com.

“We are proud of every accolade received, especially when it is based on guest reviews,” said Mr Petts.

“Knowing we are ranked highly when it comes to providing the best possible accommodation experience for our guests, a core criteria for this award, reaffirms that we are meeting our service and product promise consistently across the year.”

To qualify for the award, partners of Booking.com must have an average review score of 8 or higher, based on at least 10 guest reviews as of 11:59pm on 31 December 2014 CET.

The Watermark Hotel & Spa Gold Coast received 8.2 based on Booking.com's guest reviews from within the last 14 months, written by real guests after they have stayed and experienced the accommodation.

Mr Petts said the recognition was a great boost to the Hotel and does not take into account the newly opened dining precinct development, under the Watermark - Clifford's Grill & Lounge and the Walrus Social House.

“There are also a number of upgrades planned to the Hotel's rooms in this coming year that, once completed, will offer an improved experience for our guests each time they visit.”
