Coral Expeditions

Australia's pioneering cruise line Coral Expeditions has launched a new series of voyages that showcase an authentic seafaring experience. The 'Passages at Sea' voyages aboard its modern Australian-flagged fleet allows guests to partake in a unique life experience on a working expedition ship undertaking navigational crossings. To attract Coral Expeditions' loyal guests, these voyages are priced at a 30-40% discount off the normal expedition rates. An additional 10% Early Bird offer is available for bookings made before 30 September 2022.

From observing the crew at work, learning about navigation and ship-handling, enjoying conversation with like-minded passengers and appreciating the solitude on deck with a good book – this is a true blue-water expedition. These voyages will allow guests to unplug from life on land with open horizons, star-filled night skies and fresh air.

The feature voyage in the series is an epic 19-night navigation of the Indian Ocean that departs Zanzibar in the west coast of Africa before charting eastwards to arrive in Fremantle after covering 4,550 nautical miles. This voyage presents a rare opportunity to cross one of the world's great oceans in the wake of famed explorers like Dirk Hartog and Willem de Vlamingh.

About Coral Expeditions
Coral Expeditions, Australia's pioneering cruise line, has built its reputation with a unique style of immersive expedition cruising focused on nature and culture. Starting with a single catamaran offering environmentally sensitive cruises on the Great Barrier Reef nearly four decades ago, the fleet now consists of 3 purpose-built blue water expedition ships - the intimate 72 guest Coral Discoverer and the 120 guest flagships Coral Adventurer and Coral Geographer. Each ship is designed specially to take guests to remote locations that large cruise ships simply cannot access. With shallow drafts, multiple Zodiacs, and signature 'Xplorer' safari boats launched from a hydraulic platform, guests can expect daily village visits, river expeditions or beach landings. An expert Expedition Team providing interpretive commentary and the warm Australian hospitality onboard and all-inclusive voyages make for a very different cruise experience. Headquartered in Cairns, Australia, Coral Expeditions sails the outer Great Barrier Reef, the Kimberley coast, Tasmania, Cape York and Arnhem Land, New Zealand and further afield to the Small Islands of the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Coral Expeditions' industry leading SailSAFE program forged a pathway back to successful operation since October 2020.
