In recent years, Iceland's rugged landscape has gained notoriety having featured heavily in the fourth and fifth seasons of the HBO series Game of Thrones. For those wishing to visit Iceland on the way to destinations across the Atlantic such as Boston & Washington D.C., WOW air recently announced that passengers can opt for a WOW Stopover for up to a week at no additional airfare.

Fares from London to Baltimore/Washington International Airport start from just £169¹ in April and May. Expect colourful festivals and dazzling firework displays, as spring in Washington D.C. kicks off with the National Cherry Blossom Festival, running until April 17th. Climbing temperatures also make this a great time to experience the city's ample outdoor attractions, with highlights including the Lincoln Memorial and National Zoo.

There's also no better time to pay a visit to the historically rich city of Boston with WOW air flights from London starting from £139¹ in April/May. Springtime in Boston is beautiful, as the city comes to life to celebrate key occasions such as Patriots' Day and the iconic Boston Marathon (the world's oldest annual marathon), both taking place on April 18.
