Soma Journeys will be leading an expedition to Mount Kailash in Western Tibet that will bring travellers to the geographical and mystical heart of this sacred mountain and provide a deep immersion in Tibet's ancient Buddhist and pre-Buddhist traditions.

Mount Kailash lies in the high plateaus of the Ngari region in western Tibet and is held by multiple faiths to be the meeting place of Earth and Heaven. One of the most ancient pilgrimage destinations on the planet, every twelve years in the Tibetan Horse Year (2014) the spiritual merit of circumambulating this holy mountain is held to multiply exponentially. A single circuit around Mount Kailash is held to equal thirteen rounds completed in any other year, thus granting pilgrims access to the mountain's fabled, and normally forbidden, Inner Sanctuary.

This epic journey will begin in Kathmandu where we will fly to Humla, a remote village in northwest Nepal and start a 6-day trek over the Nara La pass (14,700 ft) and across into the Tibetan border. After circumambulating Mount Kailash and visiting the Inner Sanctuary we will drive towards Lhasa, Tibet's capital, and visit the Potala Palace the former residence of H.H. the Dalai Lama and currently a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Expedition begins on September 2 - 24, 2014 and costs US$ 8, 550 p.p (double occupancy). Price jncludes 2 chartered domestic flights, luxury camping and 4* accommodations, full board, visa permits, services of guides, drivers, camp staff, yaks and entrance fees.
