A series of recent Michelin Guide announcements and industry awards have reinforced Monaco’s position as one of Europe’s leading gastronomic destinations, highlighting the Principality’s growing appeal for food-led travel. Together, these developments underscore the depth and diversity of Monaco’s culinary scene.
Michelin recognition across Monaco’s dining scene
This momentum follows Monaco hosting the 117th Michelin Guide France & Monaco Ceremony for the first time on 16 March 2026, bringing international attention to its evolving culinary scene.
The latest Michelin Guide results recognise both established names and evolving concepts across Monaco:
- Robuchon Monaco* led by Chef Frédéric Garnier, awarded a Michelin star, continuing the legacy of Joël Robuchon with a more contemporary, shared-dining approach.
- Les Ambassadeurs by Christophe Cussac** with manager Marco Tognon receiving the Michelin Service Award for excellence in hospitality.
The new star brings Monaco’s 9 starred restaurants totalling 14 Michelin stars, with the Principality retaining all of its existing distinctions:
- Le Louis XV – Alain Ducasse***
- Blue Bay Marcel Ravin**
- L’Abysse Monte-Carlo**
- Les Ambassadeurs by Christophe Cussac**
- Elsa Marcel Ravin*
- La Table d’Antonio Salvatore au Rampoldi*
- Le Grill*
- Pavyllon Monte-Carlo*

Home to the world’s most Michelin-starred resort
At the centre of this is Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer (SBM), the most Michelin-starred resort in the world, bringing together 6 Michelin-starred restaurants and a total of 10 stars within a single destination.
These include:
- Chef Alain Ducasse: Le Louis XV – Alain Ducasse***
- Chef Marcel Ravin: Blue Bay Marcel Ravin** and Elsa Marcel Ravin*
- Chef Yannick Alléno: L’Abysse Monte-Carlo** and Pavyllon Monte-Carlo*

Beyond fine dining: gastronomy driving travel demand
Gastronomy continues to play a central role in Monaco’s tourism strategy, aligning with growing global demand for experience-led travel. Speaking during the recent Michelin Guide events, H.S.H. Prince Albert II highlighted gastronomy’s broader role across sustainability, education, and cultural exchange.
For ANZ travellers, Monaco’s compact size combined with its density of high-end restaurants positions it as a compelling addition to European itineraries, particularly for those seeking premium culinary experiences.
