Save Over £600 With Imaginative Traveller's Family Holidays This Easter

Imaginative Traveller

A strong sterling means venturing further afield this Easter affords you more bang for your buck, more pizzazz for your pound this year, something which Imaginative Traveller thinks will significantly boost short and long haul travel during 2015.

"All of our family adventures are cheaper in 2015, saving a family of four up to £646* this year compared to last."

If the savings don't win you over then the sunshine will, with  an average of 7 hours per sun per day in most Mediterranean countries and a blissful 9 hours of sun per day in North Africa.

"April marks the start of tourism season proper in Southern Europe, whilst for longer haul destinations such as North Africa, India, and South East Asia, April is one of the best months for families to visit with guaranteed sun allowing for adventurous activities but comfortable temperatures in which to do them, " says Sam Smith, Destinations Manager for Africa and Asia.

Having organised family holidays since its foundation in 1991, Imaginative Traveller are ideally placed to recommend the best destinations for Easter Adventure Family Travel.

Here's Imaginative Traveller's round-up of the best adventurous family holidays this Easter.

A heady cocktail of Hispanic history, atmospheric cities, Latin culture, wonderful music and coconut palm-fringed Caribbean beaches in a Communist state - now there's an interesting mix! Cuba is the antithesis of American culture; the lack of advertising and US household names is immediately striking and refreshing. Its isolation has ensured that its cars are endlessly recycled; the 1950s automobiles are amazing. Starting in Havana you'll see the crumbling buildings and feel the exotic rhythms of the numerous live bands. Around Viñales you'll explore tobacco fields, strange caves and stunning landscapes. At Cienfuegos, enjoy the French colonial influence in the architecture, relax in the colonial charm of Trinidad and snorkel at the beach before returning to explore Havana. This trip allows you to see all the sides Cuba has to offer. Above all, the Cubans themselves make any visit memorable; open, warm and friendly people with a zest for life.

Highlights: Feel the Cuban rhythm build as the sun sets; Step back in time on the unique streets of Havana; Snorkel in the clear Caribbean waters

Coast Rica Natural Magic 16 days from £1,320 per adult, £1,188 per child under 11. Flights ex London from £799. Trip departs 28th March or 4th April 2015.

Costa Rica stands on the isthmus of Central America, between the Caribbean and the Pacific. A cordon of volcanoes testifies to the volatile underground forces at play. The result is an extraordinary variety of landscape, climate and ecosystem - particularly tropical forest. National parks, wildlife refuges and private reserves protect over twenty five per cent of the country - more than in any other in the world. Along with the surrounding “buffer zones”, these areas harbour around seventy five per cent of all species in Costa Rica, including many that have long since disappeared in neighbouring countries. The richness of its colourful bird population is enough to stir enthusiasm in even the least ornithologically interested visitor! With at least two nights in each location the Costa Rica family holidays are designed to allow you to get the most out of this amazing country at a relaxed pace.

Highlights: Swing through the jungle on the Monteverde Skywalk; chill out at the beach with capuchin monkeys, watch the natural firework display of the Arenal Volcano.

Sri Lanka, Elephant Paradise, 15 days for £1,155per adult, £1,040 per child under 11. Flights ex London from £799. Trip departs 5th April 2015.

The legacy of Sri Lanka's position on the sea route to the East is evident for all to see; from the Moslem fishing villages which saw the passing of early Arab traders, to the several common surnames which tell of Portuguese occupation and the neat hill villages left by the British. This cultural crossroads has much more besides - all crammed into an area less than one third the size of Britain. There are ruined cities and rock-top forts to explore, strangely colourful birds, encounters with elephants and other wildlife and some of the world's best beaches. Sri Lanka tours have something for everyone and never fail to enchant visitors.

Highlights: Spot elephants on safari, explore Sri Lanka's largest cave temple complex, visit a tea factory and sleep under the stars there, visit an Elephant transit home, visit the Kosgoda Turtle hatchery.
