Truly Asia Truly Reflected With The Introduction Of The New Asian Residents' Package At Gaya Island Resort

YTL Hotels

Gaya Island Resort has embraced 2015 with the introduction of the all-new Asian Residents' Package, targeted specifically at travellers from within the Asian region, including its expatriates. Set on the sandy shores of Pulau Gaya, the largest island in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, the resort offers the perfect launching pad to discover Borneo and all that it has to offer: idyllic golden beaches, dive sites of spectacular underwater havens and untouched tropical rainforests, home to many rare species including the proboscis monkey.

Accessibility is a key attraction of this tropical paradise; being just 15-minutes off Kota Kinabalu means you get to experience the exclusivity of a YTL Luxury Resort alongside the Sabahan cultures and traditions that make the destination so unique. Gaya Island Resort is also home to the world's first spa located within a mangrove, Spa Village Gaya Island which offers a variety of spa programmes inspired by the cultural healing traditions of Sabah's many indigenous peoples.

Available for a limited time only, the Asian Residents' Package is an excellent option for sun-seekers looking for an unforgettable beach holiday and includes luxurious accommodation, daily breakfasts, lunches and dinners, return scheduled speedboat transfers from the nearby Sutera Harbour Marina and a guided Nature Walk with our Resident Naturalist, Justin Juhun. Guests who have booked the this package can enjoy easy meals at Feast Village, an interactive all-day dining restaurant offering diverse culinary dishes from the Asia-Pacific region; the Pool Bar & Lounge, a casual pool-side lounge offering lunch, light refreshments and sundowners; and Tavajun Bay which offers delightful Thai-influenced set lunches.

Aside from the above, the resort offers a la carte and private dining experiences to suit any occasion. Omakase, the resort's newest dining experience, is a novel concept that allows diners to select their preferred method of cooking, – namely teppanyaki, shabu-shabu or nabe with the chef taking care of the rest, choosing fresh ingredients from a daily selection, and Fisherman's Cove serves the finest freshly caught seafood cuisine for dinners with a stunning view of Malohom Bay.

Guests may also spend quality time with the resort's Resident Marine Biologist, Scott Mayback at the Gaya Island Resort Marine Centre, now in its second year of operation. He is also responsible for coral planting, coral reef rehabilitation and marine conservation programmes whilst educating guests on marine life and ways to preserve a healthy ecological environment. Since the centre opened in 2013, it has successfully rehabilitated several Green Sea Turtles in collaboration with the Sabah Wildlife Department. The Marine Centre is located on the resort's private beach, Tavajun Bay - a tranquil parcel of land just five minutes by boat from the resort proper that is also a wonderful place to spend an afternoon soaking up sunshine or doing a spot of stand-up paddle boarding.

Plan your escape to Borneo with the Asian Residents' Package, starting from MYR862++ per double occupancy room, per night for a minimum of two nights, inclusive of breakfasts, lunches and dinners for each night of stay and return scheduled speedboat transfers from Sutera Harbour Marina for the booking period from now until 28th June 2015.

Gaya Island Resort

Situated on Pulau Gaya within the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park in Borneo, Gaya Island Resort is a natural sanctuary nestled in the hillside of an ancient rainforest. The 121 villas respect Sabahan elements and blend harmoniously with the natural environment while interiors are designed with a contemporary elegance. Integrated within the mangroves is Spa Village Gaya Island, offering programmes that reflect the region's healing practices from the specialised rice scrubs and masques of the Kadazandusun, to the age-old practices of the Bajau sea nomads. Discoveries and authentic experiences with nature all prevail across the YTL Luxury Resort's land and seascape, offering travellers an escape that is distinctively Borneo. www.gayaislandresort.com
