Macs Adventure has 400 tours across 30 countries and the new brochure includes classic treks in the UK like the world famous West Highland Way as well as a host of new walking tours for 2015 across Ireland, the Atlantic Pyrenees, the Italian Dolomites, Vietnam and Chile.
The tour operator organises outstanding activity holidays which include door-to-door baggage transfers, hand picked accommodation with self-guided trips taken at guests own pace. Macs Adventure founder and Chief Adventure Officer Neil Lapping remains convinced that travelling under your own steam is ideal for connecting with a destination.
Neil Lapping said: “My stand out memory of 2014 is a laughter filled jewellery workshop in Jaipur, India where a retired teacher and his daughters crafted a pair of beautiful bracelets for my wife. The smell of the charcoal brazier, taste of spicy masala tea and rich sounds of India come flooding back each time Alison wears her richly decorated bracelets. To me this is what it is all about; interpersonal, rewarding and transformative experiences that enrich our lives.”
New 2015 Walking Itineraries include:
Trek Northern Vietnam 50 years since the beginning of America's Ground War from £1265 per person
It's hard to believe that that some of the highlights of Macs Adventure's Hanoi, Sapa Valley Trek and Halong Bay trip http://macsadventure.com/holiday-1798/hanoi-sapa-valley-trek-halong-bay experienced the hardships of the 'American War,' which started its ground war offensive on 8 March 1965. The low-rise and historic capital of Northern Vietnam, Hanoi is one of the most atmospheric Asian cities and is the best hub to enjoy superb trekking in the Sapa Valley where the highlands are terraced with rice paddies and inhabited by friendly, mountain tribes. The trip finishes on a colonial steamship in the calm and peaceful Halong Bay spiked with awe-inspiring limestone karsts.
Drive and Hike in Ireland during 150th Anniversary of WB Yeats from £825 per person
Coinciding with the 150th anniversary of the birth of Irish poet and Nobel Laureate WB Yeats' birth on 13 June 1865, Ireland is a top hot destination for Macs Adventure in 2015 as it has revamped its Ireland itineraries and created three new drive and hike tours including the Ultimate Ireland Discovery tour http://www.macsadventure.com/holiday-1775/ultimate-ireland-discovery which takes in Dublin, Galway and County Sligo – all key residences of Yeats.
