In the early days of This Magnificent Life we were continually asked, “but how do I buy it?” That was at the very beginning of online shopping. Today, even the most prestigious of luxury brands have an online presence. Now, This Magnificent Life brings you Emporium.
We saw a quote on a plaque attached to a Victorian era building. In its day this heritage listed site had been home to the State's 'Travelling Salesmen's Association' - a group that looked after the interests and needs of the Travelling Salesman. (Sorry for the gender bias , but in the day the overwhelming majority were men.) It read, “Serving the blessings and decencies of civilisation”.
Once the foundation and building block of sprawling capitalism, these individuals travelled far and wide, carting their wares from house to house, business to business, selling and distributing products that varied from brushes to glass jars.
And households welcomed them, seeing them as a break from the drudgery, hardship and monotony of 19th and early 20th century life.
'Serving the blessings and decencies of civilisation' was their raison d'être; the solace they gave themselves for travelling long and lonely roads, far from family and friends to sell brushes and bottles and vacuum cleaners.
With that line, they saw themselves as building civilisation. Taking time saving, beautiful, practical, indispensable things to far flung outposts and settlements.
This Magnificent Life since its launch in 2009 at Luxury Interactive New York too has talked about the blessings and decencies of civilisation. The fashion, the cars, the jewellery, the designs, the food, the wine...the list is endless. And in that time, after reviewing well over 1000 products and services, we have decided to launch Emporium.
Emporium will only sell Items that we believe meet our criteria of craftsmanship, passion and purpose. Packages from the hotels and resorts we have reviewed and meet the highest standards of service and comfort. Wherever possible we request 'exclusive TML' offers; added value and benefits that are not available anywhere else, to anyone else online or otherwise.
This Magnificent Life is about the people, places and things that make life magnificent. Emporium is about... helping the world at large enjoy these goods, or put another way ... serving the blessings and decencies of civilisation. https://emporium.thismagnificentlife.com/.
