Faces in New Places at Raffles, Fairmont and Swissôtel

TORONTO, October 2014 – FRHI Hotels & Resorts, the leading operator of Raffles Hotels & Resorts, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, is pleased to announce several management-level appointments at its properties and locations worldwide. Recent appointments include:

FRHI Hotels & Resorts welcomes Kalpesh Tana as vice president, general counsel, Middle East, Africa and India. Tana brings close to 20 years of legal experience to the position and joins FRHI from his most recent position as partner of head of retail, hotels & leisure with the international law firm, Osborne Clarke.

George Terpilowski takes on the role of regional vice president, Bermuda & Caribbean and general manager, The Fairmont Southampton. Terpilowski brings over 30 years of hospitality experience to his new position. Terpilowski began his career at the Sheraton Washington D.C. where he later held various management level positions. He first joined Fairmont in 2002 as general manager, Fairmont Washington D.C. and, most recently held the position of managing director, The Fairmont Southampton.

Fairmont Heritage Place, Franz Klammer Lodge welcomes Lynn Kiklevich as general manager. Kiklevich brings over 25 years of hospitality and residential management experience.
Most recently, she held the position of vice president of lodging operations for the Crested Butte Mountain Resort.

Raffles Beijing has named Christian Sack as its new general manager. Sack moves within the Raffles family to Beijing from Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor, Siem Reap where he has been general manager since 2011. Originally from Vienna, Christian has over 22 years of international experience working in five star hotels and resorts.

Swissôtel Beijing, Hong Kong Macau Center welcomes Stephen Fewell as general manager. Fewell arrives back at Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts after holding the title of general manager for Langham Place Hotel, Beijing, China. Fewell started with Swissôtel in 2008 as the general manager of Swissôtel Kunshan and later moved to the Swissôtel in Sochi, where he and his team prepared for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

Fairmont San Jose appoints Anthony Hsia as executive chef. Hsia brings a great deal of culinary experience to this position. He first joined Fairmont in 2008 as sous chef at the Fairmont San Jose, and soon after transferred to the Fairmont Singapore as sous chef. More recently, he held culinary positions at several notable hotel chains worldwide. Hsia rejoined Fairmont in 2013 where he held his most recent title as executive sous chef, The Fairmont San Jose.

Eraj Jayawickreme takes on the role of executive chef at Fairmont Winnipeg. Jayawickreme brings an extensive wealth of culinary experience to this position. Jayawickreme began his career in 2007 as executive sous chef and subsequently chief steward at The Sutton Place Hotel, Toronto. Since 2010, he has held the title of executive sous chef and head steward at the Hilton Toronto.

FRHI Hotels & Resorts welcomes Vernon Bersudsky as director, global accounts, Frankfurt, global sales. Throughout his career, Bersudsky has successfully held numerous management level positions across Europe and the Middle East and, most recently, held the title of director of sales and marketing at Dorint Maison Messmer in Baden-Baden, Germany.

Santiago R. Carmona has been appointed to director, global accounts, New York, global sales at FRHI Hotels & Resorts. Carmona began his career as a sales manager at Starwood Hotels & Resorts and proceeded to hold various upper management level positions within the industry. He joins us from his most recent position as vice president, corporate development for ALPFA.

FRHI Hotels & Resorts welcomes Hubert Sowka as director, global accounts. With over 10 years of hotel industry experience, Sowka began his hospitality career as a public relations manager at Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Germany. He later joined Kempinski Hotels as senior sales manager, and, most recently, held the title of director of sales at L'Hotel du Collectionneur Arc de Triomphe Paris.

Patrick Cook takes on the role of director, sales and marketing at Swissôtel Chicago. Cook brings over 20 years of sales experience to this position beginning his career with Sheraton National Hotel, Arlington, Virginia. He later held several progressive sales positions at Hilton Hotels and, most recently, held the title of director of sales & marketing at the Intercontinental Chicago O'Hare.

Swissôtel Düsseldorf/Neuss appoints Christian Prange as director of sales. Starting as an apprentice in 2004 at Sheraton Frankfurt Hotel & Towers Conference Center, he has held several positions within the hospitality industry throughout Germany. Most recently, Prange held the position of area manager sales, Marriott Hotels, in the Ruhr district.
